Heat pump cascades for the KIS Energy Self-Sufficiency 2027 mission

The KIS headquarters on the former “Hoesch AG” company site is planned to be nearly completely energy self-sufficient by 2027. The electrification concept includes optimizations in and on the building, a high degree of self-generated PV electricity and its storage as well as the heat supply via two heat pump cascades from WOLF. An energy management system ensures economically optimal sector coupling. The transformation concept combines economic and ecological benefits with the aim of making KIS largely energy self-sufficient by 2027. Just three years after the start of the project, around 80 percent of the carbon footprint from 2021 has been saved and heat consumption has more than halved.
