Powerscourt Garden Pavilion

Powerscourt estate was voted as No. 3 in the World’s Top Ten Gardens by National Geographic. It is a renowned visitors attraction of Ireland for both national and international travellers.

Our client was sourcing a renewables company to help Powerscourt Estate transform into the first Zero Carbon Estate in the world.

This was a retrofit project segmented into 5 stages.

The 5 stages: (1) The Garden Pavilion, with indoor plants and commercial units (2) The Golf Club (3) The 5-star Marriott Hotel (4) The Powerscourt Distillery (5) The Main House

The first stage of the project was to provide a low temperature, energy efficient system for space heating of The Garden Pavilion, a large glasshouse building.

The Garden Pavilion, is located in one of the most prestigious gardens in the world. It is a widely known local and international tourist attraction. It supplies an extensive plant selection, indoor/outdoor plants, bulbs and seeds. A horticulturalists dream.

GS Renewable were consulted by Powerscourt Estate on migrating to heat pump systems to power heating for the building, and to eliminate the dependency of oil / fossil fuels. The design and assembly of the modular heat pump plant room was executed off-site and commissioned on clients’ site.
