Utilitas District Heating in Tallinn

In Tallinn, biomass CHP plants supply district heating, but much energy remains in flue gases. A two-stage economizer recovers 18 MW from the flue gas, and four heat pumps use 6 MW electricity to deliver 24 MW of heat to the 80 °C network, boosting efficiency.
