Aquathermally heated medieval castle

Castle de Merode in Westerlo now uses a 50 kW water-to-water heat pump connected to a closed-loop exchanger in its moat. The system operates in hybrid mode with the existing gas boiler and CHP, reducing reliance on fossil fuels while showcasing aquathermal energy use in a historic building.
