Feneberg relies on sustainability for heating and active cooling:
The entire supermarket is heated and actively cooled by the heat pumps. A total of 36 BetaTherm geothermal baskets were buried for the Feneberg supermarket in Steingaden near Füssen. Three ecoGEO Basic B3 5-22 kW heat pumps are used, with 12 geothermal baskets belonging to each heat pump. The geothermal baskets provide thermal energy of approximately 125 000 kW per year. The large cooling demand was reduced and improved by the heat pumps, the heat pumps have active cooling.
This supermarket is a great example of a sustainable solution in food retailing. In addition to being replicable in buildings of the same supermarket chain or companies in the same sector with the same demands.
The project was planned and implemented by the company noventec GmbH from Eisenberg in Allgäu.
