The Bosch Eisenach plant was previously exclusively heated with gas boilers and chillers. Heating and cooling were generated separately with large temperature differences between the heating and cooling networks. In the context of rising demand due to the construction of a new building, it was decided to decarbonize the heating supply by implementing compressed air waste heat reuse and a heat pump. This modernization has enabled the Bosch Eisenach plant to save 2,400 tons of CO2 emissions annually, reduce gas consumption by more than 90 percent, and cut energy costs by about 600,000 euros. As a result, the site’s heating and cooling generation is now almost CO2-free.
