Hybrid Heating

Installation of the units has been done in collaboration with the manufacturers Daikin and the installers Rothwell Plumbing and has been funded through the Decent Homes scheme. The unit has a special smart controller which continually monitors the system and manages the boiler and heat pump together as one system. The controller looks at various factors such as energy tariffs and automatically selects the most cost effective way to heat the home. The heat pump is powered during daylight by a 2kWp Solar PV array providing further savings on energy costs and carbon emissions. The hybrid system can modulate through 4 different running modes based on external temperatures to maximise efficiencies.
