Energy tunnels –an opportunity for development in urban areas

The design idea of the project is to thermally activate a part of the lining of the tunnel constituting the Lingotto-Piazza Bengasi extension of the Turin metro line 1. The main objetive was to verify the applicability of the technology proposed in the patent ENERTUN to the Turin metro and to fully understand the potential of this system in order to apply it to other metropolitan tunnels and the Alpine tunnels.
