Cuneo Michelin Plant – Thermal waste recovery

The project consists in recovering and revaluating the thermal waste produced by a set of air compressors which is currently sent and wasted in cooling towers. In the proposed solutions, the thermal waste is diverted to a TEON High Temperature Heat Pump, which is capable to  produce hot water raising the temperature from 35°C to 86°C, in order to use it in the industrial process and air conditioning system.

This solution allows to (i) avoid the evacuation in air of the heat waste produced by the compressors, (ii) reduce the amount of steam purchased from an external provider; (iii) that means to reduce the amount of gas used to produce that steam and consequently its CO₂ emissions.
