Heerlen 5G-DHC ULT Thermal Urban Energy Grid

Heerlen 5G-DHC ULT Thermal Urban Energy Grid

The region worked out her CO2-neutral ambition in the PArkstad Limburg Energie Transition (PALET) strategy. The Mijnwater grid is assigned to decarbonize the heating and cooling demand of 120.000 dwellings and the commercial building stock in this region before 2040.

Remarks: The heat pumps for cooling raise through their backflow the temperature of the warm DHC pipe, the HP’s for heating cool down the cold pipe. Intelligent Framework control (STORM-DHC controller) induce strategies for cell balancing, market interaction and peak shaving in the grid. Through these strategies and cascading and modular design the HP’s operate constantly with a high rate of full loads hours (3000-5000 h/a).
