City goes Zero – switching to renewables.

Prior to renovation, the CEP located in the basement of an existing municipal building, produced thermal energy of approx. 3.1mill kWh/year. Annual greenhouse gas emissions were 571 tons CO2. The purpose of Stavanger’s project is to demonstrate innovative use of local renewable energy sources instead of fossil fuel and non-flexible electricity, in a system which can be replicated both in Norway and other European cities.
